Farm-made artisanal salts, spices, and condiments from Paarl in the Western Cape. Founded by ‘Ouma’ Anneke van Rooyen and her daughter Johannita — preservative-free, kosher, and gluten-free.

Funky Ouma is the delightful creation of Anneke van Rooyen (the ‘Funky Ouma’ herself) and her daughter Johannita Eksteen, who craft and mix artisanal salts, spices, and condiments on their farm in Paarl, Western Cape. Using natural Walvis Bay and Himalayan salts with homegrown herbs, every product is hand-packed by their team of 14 from the local community.

The range spans over 20 blends — from bold braai rubs and seafood spice to everyday cooking salts, chilli oil, and their signature black garlic salt. Everything is preservative-free, colourant-free, vegan-friendly, kosher-certified, and gluten-free.
