Wedgewood Nougat was founded in 1999 by Gilly Walters in her Merrivale, KwaZulu-Natal kitchen, inspired by Montpellier nougat she encountered while living in France. The recipe took five months to perfect and is still made today in 32 hands-on steps — no automated machines, no artificial ingredients — using roasted nuts and golden honey.
