    At a Glance

    • Flavour: rich and sweet, with an indulgent creamy butter appeal, just like the birthday cakes you remember
    • Roast: medium
    • Grind: plunger (coarse, for a French press)
    • Size: 250g bag
    • Roaster: Terbodore Coffee Roasters, hand roasted in Franschhoek

    Flavoured Only After Roasting

Terbodore flavours its coffee only once the beans have been roasted, never before. Jommo, the master roaster, roasts each batch and then adds the flavouring with pinpoint precision, so the cake-and-butter sweetness sits on top of a smooth medium roast instead of covering it up. Terbodore also says there is no sugar in the flavouring it uses.

How to Brew and Enjoy It

The coarse plunger grind is made for a French press, one of the two methods Terbodore recommends for its flavoured coffees (the other is filter), because it gives a balanced cup that shows off both the coffee and the flavour. Enjoy it black or with milk, and add a touch of sweetener if you like your coffee on the sweeter side. Once the bag is open, keep it closed with its zip-lock seal or tip the coffee into an airtight container, and drink it within about two weeks, while the flavour is at its best.

    About Terbodore Coffee Roasters

Terbodore began in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, where founder Marian and her family moved from the Western Cape in 2001 to run a small restaurant. The coffee soon became the star, and in 2004 they started roasting their own beans on a small 5kg roaster. The name joins three family names, and the Great Dane on the bag is Sultan, the family's first Great Dane. Today the team roasts by hand in small batches in Franschhoek and seals each bag straight after roasting to lock in freshness. Explore the Terbodore coffee range and more local coffees, teas and hot chocolates, or try its sweet-and-salty sister, Terbodore Salted Caramel Coffee.
