Wedgewood has been making honey nougat in Merrivale, KwaZulu-Natal since 1999, when Gilly Walters perfected a recipe inspired by the Montpellier nougat she came to love while living in France. It is still made the slow way - 32 hands-on steps with roasted nuts and golden honey, no automated machines and no artificial ingredients.
