Leo - Deon Meyer

Leo by Deon Meyer, Crime and mystery fiction, Thriller / suspense fiction

A Benny Griessel thriller that starts in Stellenbosch

Leo is the eighth novel in Deon Meyer's internationally bestselling Benny Griessel series. Detectives Benny Griessel and Vaughn Cupido are now working in Stellenbosch, where ordinary police work in a leafy university town is a long way from their old life fighting crime and corruption in Cape Town. Then a student is found dead on a mountain trail, and the main suspect, a local businessman, is murdered in what looks like a professional hit.

On the other side of the country, a group of former special forces soldiers recruits a wildlife guide as a honeytrap for a multi-million heist that goes badly wrong. A single link ties the murdered businessman to the soldiers, more bodies follow, and the case points ever closer to the corruption at the heart of the country. And through it all, Benny still has to make it to the altar on time for his wedding.
